01/06/24 Member Led Fly Tying Session CANCELED

I plan to tie two articulated Bullethead Draters… the Tennessee Shad and the leech/helegramite. Both are complex patterns. I plan to do something a little different. I will first demonstrate how to tie each for those that aren’t tying but just observing and then we will tie each fly together. I will have a few supplies bagged up for those tying. Below is the list of materials if you can your own.

Two good Articulated Bullethead Darters for Canada and Smallmouth waters.

This tying session can for some just be a demonstration and for the more experienced tying can join in.

I’m going to do this tying session a little differently, both flies are demanding and does require tying skills, I will first tie the fly and then we will all tie the fly. The same for the other fly.

I will also have my wire-bending tool with me and will demonstrate how to make the connectors for articulated flies. I will have some benders for sale. They are twenty dollars. If you plan to tie articulated flies, this tool will allow you to make any size connector and also many other wire projects for fishing. –Joe Bruce
