02/25/21 Virtual Trout Trip Presentation

We are thrilled to announce that we will be offering an early spring trout outing as well as a trip prep presentation to prepare everyone for the upcoming trout fishing season. Just last year we had scheduled a trout fishing 101 class that resulted in an exceptional number of members signing up for the event. Of course we were forced to cancel that event along with most other club functions due to Covid 19. As a result we have put together a safe alternate option to capitalize on the great trout fishing that is available to us. While the on stream instruction will be limited in comparison to the trout 101 class we previously scheduled, we believe that the combination of a virtual trip prep presentation and a safe, socially distanced trout outing will provide members with the information and hands on working knowledge to successfully fly fish for trout in our region and beyond.
 What: Trout Outing and Trip Prep Presentation
 When: • Virtual Training for Trout Outing (Trout Fly Fishing Presentation): February 25, 7:00 PM, Zoom meeting• Trout Outing Saturday March 13  8:00 AM – 2:00 PM 
 Where: TBD. The stream that we will fish will be determined by recent stockings as well as forecast stream conditions. We currently have 4-5 stream locations that we are considering and most are about a 1 hour drive from the Annapolis area.
 Things to consider… There is limited parking at most of the locations that we are considering so we will need to limit the number of anglers for the outing. We will have a minimum 2 groups so that we can spread out and walk, wade and fish in a safe and socially distanced manner. If you plan to sign up for this outing we ask that you clear your schedule for that day and plan on attending as we expect a strong turn out for this outing and we would like to accommodate those that are interested. We will be providing a gear check list during the trip presentation on Thursday night however you will need chest waders for this outing. Lastly, we do encourage all members (including those that are not attending the outing) to attend the trip presentation as it will be loaded with the information needed to fly fish for trout in our region.
