11/20/21 Saturday Morning Hands-on Session – Building and Tying Greg Krebs’ Foam Poppers with Mark Bange

November 20, 2021 @ 10:00 am 12:00 pm

Mark Bange’s “Building and Tying Greg Krebs’ Foam Poppers” Have you seen the price of poppers these days?!?  And have you seen how many poppers some of us donate to the trees surrounding our favorite fishing ponds and lakes?  Yep, its time to learn how to make your own foam poppers.  And if Mark Bange can make them look so good, so can the rest of us fly fishers.  Come and learn how to make your own popper with no magic involved.

Bring:

  1. Bobbin and thread. Color of the thread is your choice. But it should be stout to cinch down tightly on tail materials without breaking. I use flat wax 3/0 thread.
  2. Scissors
  3. A bodkin
  4. Head cement or clear nail polish
  5. Small needle nose pliers — I know that’s an odd suggestion. But you’ll see why they’re useful. If you don’t have any, I’m sure we’ll have enough pairs present to share.
